Having fun can cost a lot of fortune, especially when you're spending time in Mallorca. Find out what to do when you're low on cash. #Mallorca #top5 #cheaptravel
Now everybody knows Mallorca is an island so it's obvious that there are many, many beaches. And If you're really into beachin' all day long, you can find my Top 5 beaches in Mallorca list here. But there's much more for when you're fed up with beaches and sand.
Hiking
Who's at least a bit familiar with Mallorcan coast & skyline (unlike me when I came there for the first time), they know there are mountains. But did you know you could hike them? I wouldn't advise anybody to do so in 35 degrees but if the weather isn't particularly nice, just go. No charges here :)
Every village and town on the island has its own fiesta which means a lot of music & fun.
Visiting the towns
Not talking about Palma now (even though it's a nice place, too). There's many small towns and villages all over the island that are worth visiting and exploring on foot. No need to visit all the galleries and museums, sometimes the streets are more than enough. In Alcúdia, for example, you can climb the city walls and walk around the whole old town. In Valldemossa, you can take a stroll through the monastery park (did you know composer Frederic Chopin lived there?) and in Sóller you can take historical train to Port de Sóller (though I don't know about the prices). Other towns worth visiting are definitely Deia or Pollenca though I'm sure there's many, many more.
Party in the streets
I know that visiting the fourth town in row might get a bit dull. Good news: there might be a party! Every village and town on the island has its own fiesta which means a lot of music & fun. Probably the most famous and popular among both locals and tourists is the Fiesta de los Moros y los Cristians in Pollenca. It's happening the first week of August to memorise historical battles between Mallorcan Christians and Moroccan conquerors. If you ever happen to be there, get ready for some face paint (especially if you're a foreign girl) and a lot of Pomada - gin with lemonade - that will get you drunk faster than anything. No wonder how in this over-30 heat.
If you ever happen to be in Pollenca, get ready for some face paint and a lot of Pomada.
More parties
When we're at it, it's worth mentioning there are clubs in Palma which you can enter for free. I've personally never visited one for one simple reason - a good sleep was the priority. But if I ever find myself in Palma at night, I would definitely give it a try.
A perfect place to chill
Done with partying? Good! Now if you're up for some chill with fam or friends, there's no better place than Mallorca. Long evenings and warm nights are calling for some time out. You can take a walk or play some games in the garden or have a picnic on the beach or watch some movies on your balcony... without ever having to wear a jacket or sweater. Now that's what I call paradise.
Which of these activies would you like to try? Let me know in the comments!
